The Shaykh : So he said in the chapter thirty after the hundred: "The chapter on the sin of one who advises his brother with other than guidance." He narrated it with his chain of narration, and with this chain and others it is good, from Abu Hurayrah, who said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 259.
This hadith contains sections with numerous scholarly benefits. The first of these sections is his saying (peace and blessings be upon him):Mishkat al-Masabih 5940 This means the famous, mass-transmitted hadith: Sunan Abi Dawud 3651Sahih (Al-Albani). Mishkat al-Masabih 5940 The Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) threatens him with the Fire, saying to him: Let him prepare a place for himself in the Fire; meaning in common expression: "He drives his state toward the Fire"; because he fabricated against the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). And fabricating against the Messenger of Allah is only fabricating against Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He), because the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) is not like any of us. If any of us is fabricated against, it is a sin without doubt; fabricating against a Muslim is a sin and a great sin, but fabricating against the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) is a greater sin. And that is only because he speaks about the Lord of the worlds and with what was revealed to him (Exalted is He), as our Lord (Mighty and Majestic) said in the noble Qur'an: [An-Najm 53:1-4]. So, whoever fabricates against the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) is, in the result, fabricating against Allah, because fabricating against the Messenger of Allah means fabricating against the revelation of Allah, and the meaning of this is that he fabricates against Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He), because the revelation was only revealed to the Messenger of Allah from Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He). So it is no wonder that his threat, meaning this fabricator against the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), was very severe, where he said to him (peace and blessings be upon him): Sahih al-Bukhari 107.
Anyone who attributes words to me which I did not say should take his seat in the Fire. Anyone who gives his Muslim brother misguided advice when they consult him has betrayed them. If anyone gives a fatwa which is not firm, the wrong action of that rests on the one who gave the fatwa.
This hadith contains sections with numerous scholarly benefits. The first of these sections is his saying (peace and blessings be upon him):
Let him who falsely attributes to me things I have not said come to his seat in hell.
He who lies about me deliberately will certainly come to his abode in Hell.
Let him who falsely attributes to me things I have not said
(1) By the star when it descends, (2) Your companion [Muhammad] has not strayed, nor has he erred, (3) Nor does he speak from [his own] inclination. (4) It is not but a revelation revealed,
وَالنَّجْمِ إِذَا هَوَى * مَا ضَلَّ صَاحِبُكُمْ وَمَا غَوَى * وَمَا يَنْطِقُ عَنِ الْهَوَى * إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا وَحْيٌ يُوحَىthen (surely) let him occupy, his seat in Hellfire.
