Chapter "The Sin of One Who Advises His Brother with Other Than Right Guidance" Explanation of the Hadith of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him)

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : He said in the chapter thirty after the hundred:
"The chapter on the sin of one who advises his brother to something other than what is right".
He narrated it with his chain of narration, and it is good (hasan) with this chain and others.
From Abu Hurayrah, who said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Anyone who attributes words to me which I did not say should take his seat in the Fire. Anyone who gives his Muslim brother misguided advice when they consult him has betrayed them. If anyone gives a fatwa which is not firm, the wrong action of that rests on the one who gave the fatwa.
Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 259
.
This hadith contains sections with numerous scholarly benefits. The first of these sections is his saying (peace and blessings be upon him):
Let him who falsely attributes to me things I have not said come to his seat in hell.
Mishkat al-Masabih 5940
This means the famous, mass-transmitted hadith:
He who lies about me deliberately will certainly come to his abode in Hell.
Sunan Abi Dawud 3651Sahih (Al-Albani)
"Whoever fabricates against me what I did not say" means: whoever lies about me regarding what I did not say. So the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) threatens him with the Fire, saying to him: "Let him prepare his place in the Fire," meaning, in common expression, he is heading toward the Fire because he fabricated against the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). Fabricating against the Messenger of Allah is, in fact, fabricating against Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He), because the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) is not like any of us. If any of us were fabricated against, it is a sin without doubt; fabricating against a Muslim is a sin and a great sin, but fabricating against the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) is a greater sin. This is only because he speaks about the Lord of the Worlds and with what was revealed to him by Him (Glorified and Exalted is He), as our Lord (Mighty and Majestic) said in the Noble Qur'an:
(1) By the star when it descends, (2) Your companion [Muhammad] has not strayed, nor has he erred, (3) Nor does he speak from [his own] inclination. (4) It is not but a revelation revealed,
[An-Najm 53:1-4]
Therefore, the one who fabricates against the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) is, in the end, fabricating against Allah, because fabricating against the Messenger of Allah means fabricating against the revelation of Allah, and this means he is fabricating against Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He), because the revelation was only sent down to the Messenger of Allah from Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He). So it is no wonder that his threat, meaning the threat to this fabricator against the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), was very severe, where he (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him:
then (surely) let him occupy, his seat in Hellfire.
Sahih al-Bukhari 107
