The Shaykh : He alone has no partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and His Messenger. [Ali 'Imran 3:102], [An-Nisa 4:1], [Al-Ahzab 33:70-71], As for what follows:
Indeed, the best of speech is the speech of Allah, and the best of guidance is the guidance of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him and his family), and the worst of matters are their innovations, every innovation is a religious innovation, every religious innovation is misguidance, and every misguidance is in the Fire.
The author (may Allah have mercy on him) said, "The chapter on the one who endures the harm of people." He narrated with his authentic chain from Ibn 'Umar from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) who said:Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 388.
This hadith clarifies that it is better for a Muslim to live among people, deal with them, and mix with them, because in this coexistence and mixing there is good for him and for those he mixes with. This is because the person who mixes with others is either in need of knowledge, in which case he benefits from what they have, especially if these people are among the people of knowledge, virtue, and good character. And if he is among those people—meaning among the people of knowledge, virtue, and good character—it is even more fitting for him to be a benefit to the other people he mixes with and lives among. The truth is that this hadith contains a refutation of a trend followed by some Islamic sects for a long time, namely those known as the Sufis. These Sufis are known among all Islamic groups or sects for isolating themselves, staying in their corners and in houses they called by special names, such as *takayya* and *zawiyas*. Some of them even went so far as to leave living among people entirely, even in these *zawiyas* and *takayya*. One of them would go out to live with the beasts in the deserts, open lands, and wastelands, all of this to escape mixing with people. This is because they believe that this mixing does not bring them good, but rather brings them evil. Therefore, they preferred to live outside of buildings. They have many stories about this, which are mentioned in books of spiritual admonition and books of the miracles of the saints and the righteous, as they claimed. This hadith contains a clear refutation of these people, and that Islam was not sent by our Lord (Blessed and Exalted is He) to be lived by one person alone. Rather, Allah (Mighty and Majestic) sent down His religion and sent His messengers so that there would be a community where some live with others, cooperate with one another in good, and forbid one another from evil, as He (Mighty and Majestic) said:[Ali 'Imran 3:110]. The man who lives alone and does not live among his kind has no opportunity to be described with this excellent attribute by which Allah (Mighty and Majestic) described this community, one of whose most prominent characteristics is [Ali 'Imran 3:110]. The man who lives in the open lands, deserts, and wastelands finds no one to enjoin good upon him or forbid him from evil. He finds no one to teach him anything of what Allah has taught, if he has knowledge. And if he is in ignorance, he finds no one to learn from regarding what Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He) has taught. Therefore, he lives his entire life in a state of barrenness, like the barren lands in which he lives: barren of knowledge, barren of good character, and barren of the softness and gentleness that a Muslim should possess, considering that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) described the believer with many attributes, among which he said: . This attribute of being easy-going and gentle cannot be imprinted on the person who lives in the deserts. Therefore, it came in many authentic hadiths in which the Messenger (peace be upon him) describes the Bedouins who live in the deserts and not in the cities as having hard hearts and harsh livers. So it is no wonder that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade in some hadiths the Bedouin who migrated from his desert life to a city, to civilization, from returning to his former state of desert life. Therefore, he (peace and blessings be upon him) said, to confirm this meaning we are discussing: , . "Min bada'" means from one who resided in the desert, meaning from one who lived the life of the Bedouins. Meaning: his nature became harsh and rough. How can a Muslim leave the Islamic community, not mix with them, not live among them, and live alone as we mentioned, outside the cities in the open lands and deserts? In that case, his nature becomes harsh, his knowledge decreases, and the matters of the Shari'ah become inverted and reversed for him.
O you who have believed, fear Allah as He should be feared and do not die except as Muslims [in submission to Him].
O mankind, fear your Lord, who created you from one soul and created from it its mate and dispersed from both of them many men and women. And fear Allah, through whom you ask one another, and the wombs. Indeed Allah is ever, over you, an Observer.
(70) O you who have believed, fear Allah and speak words of appropriate justice. (71) He will [then] amend for you your deeds and forgive you your sins. And whoever obeys Allah and His Messenger has certainly attained a great attainment.
