The Shaykh : He whom Allah guides, no one can mislead, and he whom Allah leaves to mislead, no one can guide. And I bear witness that there is no god but Allah alone, with no partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and His Messenger. [Ali 'Imran 3:102], [An-Nisa 4:1], [Al-Ahzab 33:70-71]. As for what follows:
Indeed, the best of speech is the speech of Allah, and the best of guidance is the guidance of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him and his family), and the worst of matters are their innovations, and every innovation is a religious innovation, and every religious innovation is misguidance, and every misguidance is in the Fire. And after that:
We are still in the “Chapter on Mercy to Animals,” and we are now discussing the eightieth hadith after three hundred. The author (may Allah have mercy on him) narrated it with his authentic chain from Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-As from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), who said:Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 380. The author (may Allah have mercy on him) cited this hadith in this chapter based on the generality of his statement (peace be upon him): . He cited it in the Chapter on Mercy to Animals because his statement (peace be upon him): encompasses mercy for all creatures. Open the door, let it come out. also includes mercy to animals, and therefore the author cited it under the Chapter on Mercy to Animals. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 380. This is as mentioned previously in a past lesson from the statement of Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: “Whoever does not forgive will not be forgiven.” And we said at that time that this phrase may have been a comparison by Umar ibn al-Khattab to his statement (peace be upon him): Sunan Abi Dawud 5218Sahih (Al-Albani). It is also possible that he heard it from the Messenger (peace be upon him) but did not attribute it to him. Now, here the hadith comes from the narration of Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-As, attributed to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), with the wording: Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 380. Just as Allah (Mighty and Majestic) reciprocates the mercy of His servant toward one of His creations by forgiving this servant, so He reciprocates the forgiveness of a servant toward one of His creations by having Allah forgive this servant. That is, the reward is of the same kind as the deed. Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 380 This is Arabic that we must understand. *Aqma'* is the plural of *qum'*; what we call *qum'* in the colloquial language is *qum'* in the Arabic language, and the plural of *qum'* is *aqma'*. The known *qum'* is the conical vessel placed on a jar or large container to fill it with water or any liquid. The Messenger (peace be upon him) says: . This is a very exquisite metaphor. He invokes *wayl* (destruction), and *wayl* is a valley in Hellfire from which Hellfire seeks refuge due to the horror of the fire within it. So the Messenger (peace be upon him) invokes *wayl* for a type of people whom he compared to *aqma'* (funnels), meaning that they hear the word but do not retain it. The word passes through them like water entering a funnel; nothing is retained, nothing remains in it; it enters from here and exits from there. Then he said: , meaning for people who are like *aqma'*, i.e., words flow through them and they hear them, just as the colloquial expression says, “It enters from here and comes out from there.” So his statement *aqma' al-qawl* (funnels of the word) is a metaphor for this listener who does not retain or comprehend the speech, and consequently does not act upon it. The Messenger (peace be upon him) compared these people to *aqma'*, which are merely a passage for the word and speech, and the funnel does not benefit from what passes through it. Oil may pass through it, or fat, or any beneficial thing, but it will not benefit from what passes through it. So the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) invoked against this type of people who hear the word and then do not follow it. *Aqma' al-qawl* is a very exquisite metaphor for these people who hear the speech and then do not take a lesson from it or benefit from it. Similarly, he invoked for another type of people, saying: Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 380. This is also an invocation against another type of people who are arrogant and proud, persisting in their error. In the colloquial expression, “Your eye was your eye” (meaning you know you are wrong). He knows his state is that he is mistaken, so he stubbornly denies it and persists, and they know this. The Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) also invoked *wayl* against these people.
O you who have believed, fear Allah as He should be feared and do not die except as Muslims [in submission to Him].
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اتَّقُوا اللَّهَ حَقَّ تُقَاتِهِ وَلَا تَمُوتُنَّ إِلَّا وَأَنْتُمْ مُسْلِمُونَO mankind, fear your Lord, who created you from one soul and created from it its mate and dispersed from both of them many men and women. And fear Allah, through whom you ask one another, and the wombs. Indeed Allah is ever, over you, an Observer.
(70) O you who have believed, fear Allah and speak words of appropriate justice. (71) He will [then] amend for you your deeds and forgive you your sins. And whoever obeys Allah and His Messenger has certainly attained a great attainment.
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَقُولُوا قَوْلًا سَدِيدًا * يُصْلِحْ لَكُمْ أَعْمَالَكُمْ وَيَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ ذُنُوبَكُمْ وَمَنْ يُطِعِ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ فَقَدْ فَازَ فَوْزًا عَظِيمًاIndeed, the best of speech is the speech of Allah, and the best of guidance is the guidance of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him and his family), and the worst of matters are their innovations, and every innovation is a religious innovation, and every religious innovation is misguidance, and every misguidance is in the Fire.
