And among the evils of our deeds is [that] whoever Allah guides has no one to mislead him, and whoever He misleads has no one to guide him. And I bear witness that there is no god but Allah alone, with no partner.

The Shaykh : And we seek refuge in Allah from the evils of our souls and from the badness of our deeds. Whom Allah guides, there is no one who can misguide him, and whom He misguides, there is no one who can guide him. And I bear witness that there is no god but Allah alone, with no partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and His Messenger, [Ali 'Imran 3:102], [An-Nisa 4:1], [Al-Ahzab 33:70-71]. As for what follows:
Indeed, the best of speech is the speech of Allah, the best of guidance is the guidance of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), and the worst of matters are their innovations. Every innovation is a religious innovation, every religious innovation is misguidance, and every misguidance is in the Fire. And after that:
Our previous lesson reached Chapter One Hundred. The chapter titled "When one dislikes eating with his slave."
The student: Generally, in the hadith before it.
The Shaykh : before it.
The student: Yes.
The Shaykh: Correct, yes, that is right.
The remainder of the last hadith from Chapter Ninety-Nine: "The chapter on a man's spending on his slave and servant being charity," which was narrated with its good chain from Abu Hurayrah, who said:
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered [people] to give charity, so a man said: "Do I have a dinar?" He said:. He said: "Do I have another?" He said: . He said: "Do I have another?" He said: Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 197.
This hadith is like an explanation of a hadith that passed earlier—also from Abu Hurayrh—worded as:. So here it explains this hadith in a real story, which is when the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered charity, and one of those present said: "Do I have a dinar?" He said: . This means: . He said: "Do I have another?" He said: . He said: "Do I have another?" He said: Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 197; meaning: I know and am aware of spending the rest of what you may have of dirhams. So the hadith is a practical clarification of his (peace and blessings be upon him) earlier statement: .
O you who have believed, fear Allah as He should be feared and do not die except as Muslims [in submission to Him].
O mankind, fear your Lord, who created you from one soul and created from it its mate and dispersed from both of them many men and women. And fear Allah, through whom you ask one another, and the wombs. Indeed Allah is ever, over you, an Observer.
(70) O you who have believed, fear Allah and speak words of appropriate justice. (71) He will [then] amend for you your deeds and forgive you your sins. And whoever obeys Allah and His Messenger has certainly attained a great attainment.
Indeed, the best of speech is the speech of Allah, the best of guidance is the guidance of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), and the worst of matters are their innovations.
