The Muslims have divided into sects and parties, and Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) has forbidden us from division and disagreement.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : The first question says: The Muslims have divided into sects and parties, and Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) has forbidden us from division and disagreement. The Muslims today, this one is a Salafi, this one is an Ash'ari, this one is a Sufi, and this one is whatever you want. The question is: Is it not possible to overlook the creed of loyalty and disavowal in order to unite the word to face the enemies of Allah and His Messenger?

The Shaykh : This is a strange and wondrous question that indicates that many of the Muslims—if we do not say most of the Muslims—do not yet know how the Muslims can fight the enemies of Allah and wage war against them, while they are, as he described himself, divided into sects and many parties; how can this be reasonable? The questioner : They are themselves divided into sects and many factions; how can this be reasonable? The questioner : That we leave aside the inquiry into Allah (Mighty and Majestic), which was among the first matters of faith that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was commanded to address in His saying:
And magnify your Lord
, and His saying (Mighty and Majestic):
And know that there is no god but Allah
. If the Muslims are differing in their understanding of this noble word, how can these people be one hand in confronting the enemies of Allah and fighting them? It is as if thisThe questioner : and those like them want us to deny the attributes of Allah (Mighty and Majestic), and by denying the Shari'ah of Allah we can confront the enemies of Allah. This is according to the school of Abu Nuwas:
"And we treated with that which was the disease"
Our Lord (Mighty and Majestic) says:
And if you disagree over anything, refer it to Allah and the Messenger, if you should believe in Allah and the Last Day. That is the best [way] and best in result.
[An-Nisa 4:59]
, and the verse we mentioned repeatedly just now:
And whoever opposes the Messenger after guidance has become clear to him and follows other than the way of the believers - We will give him what he has taken and drive him into Hell, and evil it is as a destination.
[An-Nisa 4:115]
. How can thisThe questioner : and those like him be satisfied that we turn away from all these clear verses? And how can he imagine the possibility of these Muslims meeting despite the severe disagreement between them? It is not as they say in the branches; but in the fundamentals, and not only in the fundamentals; but in the fundamental of fundamentals; which is Allah, the Lord of the worlds (Blessed and Exalted is He)?
And I am deeply sorry to remind thisThe questioner : and those like him: We flew with joy when news reached us of the victory of our Muslim brothers in Afghanistan over the Russian communists and their followers. Then, to the extent that we rejoiced, we were grieved and saddened when they stopped at only two towns out of all of Afghanistan. The reason for that is that their commanders and leaders disagreed among themselves and disputed. And our Lord says:
and do not dispute and [thus] lose courage and [then] your strength would depart
[Al-Anfal 8:46]
. So thisThe questioner : does not pay attention to the disagreement that the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) referred to in the hadith of the seventy-three sects, and that the saved sect is the one that is upon what the Messenger (peace be upon him) and his Companions were upon; when the Muslims unite on this methodology from the Book and the Sunnah and what the Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) were upon; at that time, they can face the enemies of Allah (Mighty and Majestic). As for leaving the old as it is, as they say, and trying to gather and meet in order to fight the enemy, this is impossible. The verse and the Battle of Hunayn and the like are among the greatest examples of the necessity of unifying the word of the Muslims. And this will never be possible except on the basis of the Book and the Sunnah. The previous verse is sufficient for you, if Allah wills, as an indication:
And if you disagree over anything, refer it to Allah and the Messenger, if you should believe in Allah and the Last Day. That is the best [way] and best in result.
[An-Nisa 4:59]
. So the Book is the Book, the Sunnah is the Sunnah, and the methodology is the Salaf, the Salaf, the Salaf.
Yes.
