A doubt raised by some individuals and their argument for the permissibility of standing for others based on the hadith of Sa'd ibn Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with him), when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said regarding him:

The questioner : ... As if I read once ... a group, and the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) said to them:
Rise for your master
?

The Shaykh : Yes, by Allah, I read it and I made a mistake.
-- ... ... -- .
This hadith, O Abu Fahd, first of all, its narration is incorrect; because it is worded as:
Stand up to your master
, and not
Rise for your master
. No Arabized person like me, let alone an Arab like you, would doubt the difference between:
Rise for your master
and
Stand up to your master
. Stand up.
Yes?

Another questioner : ... An Arab ... the Arabs who are like him are in a hurry like us; he is an Arab because he speaks the language of the Arabs ... .

The Shaykh : "Stand up for your master" out of reverence and respect,
Stand up to your master
go to him. So many people of knowledge and virtue make mistakes, first in the narration of the hadith, and second in the jurisprudence of the hadith; because if one makes a mistake in the narration of the hadith, he will make a mistake in its jurisprudence and its indication. They include it in the topic of standing for others, respect, and honor, whereas it has absolutely no relation to this topic. Its relation is to helping the man about whom it was said: "Stand up for him," and he is Sa'd ibn Mu'adh the Ansari. He was injured in his ankle, wounded ... by their swords, their men were killed and their women taken captive. The Messenger (peace be upon him) said to him:
from above the Seven Heavens
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 3213Sahih (Darussalam)
against your will, pardon for your Shaykh, or for the one who has authority, these mean any Shaykh.
from above the Seven Heavens
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 3213Sahih (Darussalam)
. The point is: the time came to execute the judgment, so he came riding on a donkey while he was sick. He said to the Ansar, who are his people:
Rise to your Sayyid and lower him
Sahih Ibn Hibban 63:176
from his mount. Do you see how? Where are you?

The questioner : ... That is that.

The Shaykh : Yes, indeed, there is a difference ... .
