Does Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) descend to the lowest heaven with His knowledge or with His essence?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : The questioner says: This question is...: Does Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) descend to the lowest heaven with His knowledge or with His essence?

The Shaykh : Yes, by His Essence. If He had intended [to attribute it] to His Knowledge, He would have said: “by His Knowledge.” Then we say to this person:The questioner : Complete the hadith; because the problem with the *ta'til* (denial of the divine attributes) people is that they take a part of the hadith. The hadith says:
Allah descends every night to the lowest heaven; He says: Is there anyone asking, so I give to him? ينزل الله في كلِّ ليلةٍ إلى السماء الدنيا ؛ فيقول : ألا هل من سائلٍ ؛ فأعطيه ؟
“No, no, and so on.” So here, it asks: “Knowledge?” If we interpret it as Allah descending—meaning: His Knowledge?—and some of them have said: “His Mercy.” This is the *ta'wil* (figurative interpretation) of the *ta'til* people. But if you follow this interpretation through to the end of the hadith, its invalidity becomes clear to you. Does Mercy say: “Is there no one asking, that I may give to him? Is there no one seeking forgiveness, that I may forgive him?” Does Mercy speak like that? Far be it from Allah! This is *ta'til* itself.
Yes.
