A word about one of the methods of learning, namely asking questions.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : ... We praise Him, seek His help, and seek His forgiveness. We seek refuge in Allah from the evil of our own selves and from the evil of our deeds. Whoever Allah guides, none can misguide, and whom He leaves to misguide, none can guide. And I bear witness that there is no deity but Allah alone, with no partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and His Messenger.
O you who have believed, fear Allah as He should be feared and do not die except as Muslims [in submission to Him].
[Ali 'Imran 3:102]
,
O mankind, fear your Lord, who created you from one soul and created from it its mate and dispersed from both of them many men and women. And fear Allah, through whom you ask one another, and the wombs. Indeed Allah is ever, over you, an Observer.
[An-Nisa 4:1]
,
(70) O you who have believed, fear Allah and speak words of appropriate justice. (71) He will [then] amend for you your deeds and forgive you your sins. And whoever obeys Allah and His Messenger has certainly attained a great attainment.
[Al-Ahzab 33:70-71]
. As for what follows:
One of the methods of learning knowledge is what the text has mentioned in the saying of the Blessed and Exalted:
So ask the people of the message if you do not know.
[An-Nahl 16:43]
. Our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) affirmed this in the hadith narrated by Abu Dawud in his Sunan and by Imam Abu Abdullah al-Hakim in his Mustadrak, from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him), that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) sent a detachment to fight in the cause of Allah. Then, when the war had ended between his Companions (peace be upon him) and the disbelievers, and morning came upon them, one of them was in a state of major ritual impurity and had many wounds. He asked those around him if they knew of a dispensation for him not to perform the full ritual bath because of his wounds. They told him, "You must perform the bath." So he performed it, and as a result, he died, as is clear to everyone. His fever rose due to the pus and discharge, and so on, until he died. When this reached the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he said:
They killed him, may Allah kill them! Did they not ask when they were ignorant? Indeed, the cure for ignorance is asking.
— and here is the point —
Did they not ask when they were ignorant? Indeed, the cure for ignorance is asking.
.
It is customary among people that the transmission of knowledge usually takes place through an organized method, whether in the old study circles in the mosques in the morning or evening, or similar, or as is the case now in all schools, whether religious or otherwise. But this second method is often more beneficial and useful for many people. Perhaps you have realized what I mean by the second method, which is the method of question and answer:
So ask the people of the message if you do not know.
[An-Nahl 16:43]
,
Did they not ask when they were ignorant? Indeed, the cure for ignorance is asking.
.
I said that this method or this approach may be more beneficial because many people encounter certain matters in which they do not know the ruling of the Shari'ah, and they may not find someone to issue a fatwa for them regarding that. If they are given the opportunity to meet and gather with some of those who may have been granted a share of knowledge, they seize that opportunity and ask about the issues or problems that are on their minds, for which they find no solution, whether in their own persons or in their relationships with other people whom they may think possess knowledge. For this reason, we say: if asking questions and receiving answers is a method of receiving knowledge, then bring your questions. May Allah reward you.

The questioner : ... give it to someone else.

The Shaykh : ... Yes, it is your turn.
Please proceed.
