Is it permissible to kill flies, ticks, lice, and the like?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Eid Abbasi : There are several questions here regarding Hajj: Is it permissible to kill flies, ticks, lice, and the like?

The Shaykh : The answer is similar to what was mentioned previously. Anything that causes harm or annoyance, the Wise Lawgiver permits killing. There is a model of animals regarding which the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) permitted killing in authentic hadiths, such as the snake, the scorpion, the crow, the rat, and the like. If these insects mentioned in the question are of the type that transmit diseases and plagues, especially in large communities and crowded places, we see that there is no objection to killing them.
