The Beliefs of the Christians and the Jews Regarding Faith in Allah and the Last Day
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : ... The Christians believe in Allah on the basis that He is three, that He is composed of three hypostases: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. In their view, these equal one God. Is Allah like that? Far be it from Him, (Mighty and Majestic), (Glorified and Exalted is He) above what the wrongdoers say, in great elevation.
So they believe in a god that they imagined in their minds. As for the true God who must be worshipped alone, having no partner, He is as He said in the Noble Qur'an:[Al-Ikhlas 112:1-4]. Since the Christians do not believe in this tawhid, which is a description of Allah, (Mighty and Majestic), and they described Him contrary to this reality—describing Him as the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit—Allah said regarding them: [An-Nisa 4:38]. This is because the god they believe in is a god they imagined in their minds, exactly like the god of the Buddhists. What is their god? The cow. They worship the cow as the god who deserves worship. Is it correct to say that the Buddhists believe in Allah? The answer is no. Likewise, it is not correct to say that the Christians believe in Allah, because they believe in something called the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit as the one God. This is a purely imaginary idea that does not match the reality of the oneness of Allah, (Blessed and Exalted is He).
Likewise, the Last Day. Do the Christians believe in the Last Day?
The answer is: they believe and they do not believe. They believe in the Last Day as the coming of 'Isa, (peace be upon him), at the end of the world, at the end of time. They claim that he will come to judge, to reward the obedient and punish the disobedient. This is the Last Day according to the Christians. As for the Last Day described in the Noble Qur'an with attributes, among which is that it is not this world; therefore it is called the Last Day. And with attributes that people are two groups: a group in Paradise and a group in the blazing Fire. And that they are in bliss or in torment. And that this bliss and torment are material, as it is here in this world; that is, with the soul and the body. The Christians do not believe in all these truths. Therefore, Allah negated their faith and said:[An-Nisa 4:38].
It is said regarding the Jews what was said regarding the Christians. The Jews are a group or groups among whom some believe, as Allah, (Mighty and Majestic), explicitly stated in the Noble Qur'an, that 'Azir is the son of Allah. 'Azir is the son of Allah. So they—meaning the Christians—in this aspect, where they associated partners with Allah and made for Him a child and a son; this is clear shirk (associating partners with Allah). So they do not believe in Allah in truth. Other groups among them claim that they are monotheists, but they understand Allah as being in the form of humans; that He is in the form of humans, and that He is described with some of the attributes of humans, better than them. So whoever among you is tested like I am, to read one day what they call the Holy Book, the Torah and the Gospel, will find in it that Ya'qub, (peace and blessings be upon him), wrestled with his Lord. This is the first tashbih (likening Allah to creation), the first misguidance: that the servant wrestles with his Lord. And not only that, but he overpowered him! That is, Ya'qub overpowered his Lord. And not only that, but he did not let go of his hand until the servant made his Lord—meaning Ya'qub made his Lord—agree to bless his sons and his descendants. So when he kicked him, he released him. Is this the true Lord, incapable of defending himself, and not being released except by making a promise to the one who overpowered him and threw him to the ground beneath him?!
These people do not believe in Allah either. If you know these facts, my brothers, the matter is very important. I see that the speech has become long and has a connection, and I hope to remind you of it in... there is a continuation to this speech, and I believe it is important. But I say: these examples show you that if a Muslim believes in Allah, (Mighty and Majestic), with a faith that contradicts what came in the Book and the Sunnah, this faith does not benefit him at all. Just as the Jews and the Christians were not benefited by their belief in Allah at all, because they believed in Him contrary to the reality of His affair, (Blessed and Exalted is He).
So there I said: groups of people do not call these Muslims who have fallen into major shirk (associating partners with Allah) for two reasons:
The first reason, or among them for the first reason, is: that they not be branded with the label of these people who are known in the Islamic world to care most of all, and I do not say that they care only about tawhid (the oneness of Allah), but rather that the greatest thing they care about is calling to tawhid, and they are branded with the label of Wahhabis. So those scholars who knew these facts and shared with us in knowing and believing in them do not fulfill the obligation of conveying the message out of fear of people, and Allah is more worthy of being feared, (Blessed and Exalted is He).
And other people, as you heard, acknowledge these facts with us, but they say: the time now does not allow it, or it is not wise and not in accordance with the Shari'ah policy to call Muslims to this tawhid, because the Muslims will divide into two groups.
I said earlier, with some detail, pointing to a very serious matter: that these people want to oppose what Allah and His Messenger informed us of. You heard earlier that the Messenger, (peace and blessings be upon him), informed that this Ummah (the Muslim community) will split into seventy-three sects. So these people want to make the seventy-three sects one sect, and this is an impossible matter, there is no way to it at all. Therefore, we are distinct from all Muslims who share with us in the correct understanding and firm faith in the word of tawhid, in that we have a special and important concern in calling Muslims to understand this tawhid. That is because salvation in the Hereafter, as we explained to you, is not achieved except with this correct understanding and firm faith in "La ilaha illa Allah" (There is no god but Allah).
While the other groups that have activity in calling Muslims, and in trying to awaken them from this humiliation in which they have fallen, do not have a concern, either absolutely or a concern worth mentioning, in calling the masses of Muslims in general. Nor in calling the individual Muslims who revolve in their orbit, as they say, in particular. So this call to tawhid has become a burden, because it is said that it divides the Muslim community.
A very strange matter. We all know that the intended meaning of Muslims is not those whom we described as saying: if he says "La ilaha illa Allah" with his tongue, it will save him in this world, not the Hereafter. Rather, we mean the Muslims who say "La ilaha illa Allah" with understanding of it and firm faith in it. So if we see these masses of Muslims do not understand this faith and do not comprehend it, the greatest obligation on all Islamic callers is to concern themselves with this call before anything else, and to unite the Muslims on its basis. So whoever responds to them and walks with them in this path, these are people with whom cooperation is possible in matters to which Islam called after that.
And now we stop, and perhaps we will continue the speech...
So they believe in a god that they imagined in their minds. As for the true God who must be worshipped alone, having no partner, He is as He said in the Noble Qur'an:
(1) Say, "He is Allah, [who is] One, (2) Allah, the Eternal Refuge. (3) He neither begets nor is born, (4) Nor is there to Him any equivalent."
Likewise, the Last Day. Do the Christians believe in the Last Day?
The answer is: they believe and they do not believe. They believe in the Last Day as the coming of 'Isa, (peace be upon him), at the end of the world, at the end of time. And that this bliss and torment are material, as it is here in this world; that is, with the soul and the body. The Christians do not believe in all these truths. Therefore, Allah negated their faith and said:

لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِاللَّهِ وَلَا بِالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِIt is said regarding the Jews what was said regarding the Christians.
