Discussion of the chain of narration of the hadith of Asma bint Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to her

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : As for the hadith of Asma bint Abi Bakr when the Messenger (peace be upon him) said to her:
When a woman reaches the age of menstruation, it is not permissible for any part of her to be seen except her face and her two hands إذا بلغت المرأة المحيض لم يصلُحْ أن يُرى منها وجهها وكفَّيها
, some people stop at this hadith, those who have no specialization in the science of hadith and no breadth in tracing the routes of hadith, especially when the hadith is in some of its routes in books that are not circulated among scholars who are not specialists, as we mentioned. This hadith is found in one of the four famous books of Sunan, and from the narration of the Lady Aisha. There is no doubt or ambiguity for us that the chain of this hadith is weak; because there is a break in it, and there is weakness in some of its narrators. This is what we mentioned in the previously mentioned book: "The Hijab of the Muslim Woman in the Book and the Sunnah." However, this hadith has a corroborating narration that is considered valid by the people of hadith knowledge, and it is not from the route of Aisha which is broken and contains a weak narrator, but from another route; from the route of Asma herself, the owner of the story, excuse me, from the route of "Asma bint Umayys."
