Some Muslims display joy and happiness over what happens in the West, such as the departure of one president and the arrival of another, on the pretext that one is better than the other

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner: Our Shaykh, some Muslims ... the West and the developments in the West, so when something happens there, they display joy and happiness; is this considered a practical or a heart-related defect in creed? And what do you advise, Your Eminence?

The Shaykh: Pardon me, what do you mean? What do you mean ...?

Another questioner: To be explicit.

The questioner: So-and-so left and so-and-so came, so this is better than that, and this ... and so on.

The Shaykh: This is a weakness of both faith and intellect, a weakness of faith and intellect. In truth, what every Muslim must keep in mind on such an occasion is to remember the saying of Allah - Blessed and Exalted is He - :
Every time a nation enters, it will curse its sister كُلَّمَا دَخَلَتْ أُمَّةٌ لَعَنَتْ أُخْتَهَا
[Al-A'raf 7:38]
.
Abu Malik:
when they have all overtaken one another therein, the last of them will say about the first of them إِذَا ادَّارَكُوا فِيهَا جَمِيعًا قَالَتْ أُخْرَاهُمْ لِأُولَاهُمْ
[Al-A'raf 7:38]
.

The Shaykh: Yes.
So the point is, in truth, this joy is childish joy, not the joy of men, first of all; and secondly, it is not the joy of believing men; because Bush fell and the one who took his place, I don't know what his name is?

Those present: "Clinton".

The Shaykh: ... on my mind ... .
Abu Malik: By Allah - our Shaykh - the names of other devils ...!

The Shaykh: So the point is, Bush fell and so-and-so succeeded in the election. They all follow the same policy; it is merely a change of faces. Therefore, it is a great foolishness to rejoice that Bush left and so-and-so came in his place, especially since we do not yet know the good from the evil of so-and-so, if there is any good among them. Why this haste, when disbelief, first of all, is all one religion? The American people, as a people, their policy is with the Jews. So the fact that Bush fell and so-and-so succeeded does not change the policy of this people with the speed that some weak in dreams and intellect imagine, that we are rid of "Bush"! Well, and this one is perhaps worse than "Bush". In any case, a Muslim does not rejoice at the fall of a disbeliever and the rise of a disbeliever in his place; because disbelief is one religion, and the policy is one policy. Look now, who was the minister of the Jews?

Those present: "Yitzhak Shamir".

The Shaykh: "Yitzhak Shamir".
Abu Malik: "Yitzhak Shamir" and ... "Yitzhak Rabin".

The Shaykh: "Yitzhak Rabin", what difference did we see between the fall of that one and the rise of this one? Nothing at all. It is merely a game for those with weak dreams. And unfortunately, some Muslims, or some politicians who are not governed by the policy of the Qur'an and the Sunnah; therefore, I can say: As Allah said - Mighty and Majestic - I say on this occasion, that Allah does not love lying. These who rejoice at the fall of this one ... these, as I said earlier, their dreams are like the dreams of children, or even birds.
Abu Layla: Our Shaykh, the one who falls is always present in their Senate and so on, meaning he has no difference in policy with them.

The Shaykh: The policy is one.
