The questioner : The questioner says: In the book "The Chain of Weak and Fabricated Hadiths," there is a hadith: . He says: It is a good mursal hadith!! This is not what the author of "The Chain of Weak and Fabricated Hadiths" says about a hadith: that it is a good mursal. He must have mentioned other things. The important thing is, in answer to this question, which he ended by saying: Please explain to us; is it authentic and to be acted upon, or not?
Answer: This is a hasan hadith, narrated by Abu Dawud as musnad, not mursal, from the hadith of Abu Hurayrah. He said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:. This hadith is established at the level of hasan among the scholars of hadith, and among those who established it is Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah and others. It is one of the hadiths related to the world of the barzakh (the interval between death and resurrection). The world of the barzakh is part of the unseen realms that the human mind usually cannot reach or discover the truths of. So, if something comes to us from the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), let alone from the Noble Qur'an, that speaks about some of these unseen matters, our duty at that time is, as He (the Exalted) said: ; because this submission is what indicates the perfection of the Muslim who submits to this text, as He (the Exalted) said: [Al-Baqarah 2:2-3].
Who are the muttaqun (those who fear Allah)?[Al-Baqarah 2:3]. Linguistically, the ghayb (unseen) is everything that is hidden from your knowledge and your mind. So, if a matter related to the unseen comes, transmitted from the Book or from the established Sunnah of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), it is obligatory to submit to it, as we mentioned. And if such an unseen matter comes from some opinions, the opinions of men; it is not permissible to submit to it; because it falls into the category of superstitions and conjecturing about the unseen. The previous hadith is one of the hadiths of the unseen, and it is obligatory to submit to it. It is not permissible to expand in attempting to reveal the truth of this report; so it is not permissible to ask how the Messenger (peace be upon him) returns the greeting to those who greet him, when in that same moment, none can count their number except Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He)? Because we say: This is an unseen matter, and it is not permissible to expand in it. Rather, we believe in the amount that the hadith informed us of.
