From Nafi' that Ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said to him: "O Nafi', my blood has become agitated, so seek out a cup-taker for me."

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : The author (may Allah have mercy on him) says: And from Nafi' that Ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said to him: "O Nafi', my blood has become agitated." "My blood has become agitated" means: it has risen. "So seek out a cup-taker for me," Ibn 'Umar said to his slave Nafi': "So seek out a cup-taker for me, and make him a companion if you can, and do not make him an old man or a young boy." And this is clear; because the old man may be unable to perfect his craft, and the young boy likewise does not have experience and does not have complete care. Ibn 'Umar said: For I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say:
Cupping on an empty stomach is better
Sunan Ibn Majah 3487Da’if (Darussalam)
Cupping on an empty stomach is better
Sunan Ibn Majah 3487Da’if (Darussalam)
meaning: more beneficial,
And in it is healing and blessing, and it increases in intellect and in memory, and be cupped on the blessing of Allah on Thursday, and avoid cupping on Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday out of caution.
; meaning: strive not to be cupped on these days, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday,
And be cupped on Monday.
, so it became with us Thursday and this is Monday,
and Tuesdays, for that is the day on which Allah relieved Ayyub of Calamity, and He inflicted calamity upon him on a Wednesday, and leprosy and leucoderma only appear on Wednesdays, or on the night of Wednesday.
Sunan Ibn Majah 3487Da’if (Darussalam)
.
Ibn Majah narrated it from Sa'id ibn Maimun, and I do not recall any criticism or vindication regarding Nafi' in it, and from al-Hasan ibn Abi Ja'far from Muhammad ibn Juhadah, in my original text here it is Ibn Abi Juhadah and that is an error, and the correct is from Muhammad ibn Juhadah from Nafi', and the discussion regarding al-Hasan and Muhammad will follow.
Here is a long discussion by the author, and the summary is that this hadith revolves around Muhammad ibn Juhadah. If this hadith were restricted to a single path, for example, the path of Sa'id ibn Maimun, about whom the author says: I do not recall any criticism or vindication, then the man would be unknown, and the hadith would consequently be weak and not relied upon. But the reality is that this hadith has many paths to Muhammad ibn Juhadah, and Muhammad ibn Juhadah is in himself trustworthy, and the two Shaykhs relied upon him, and I have spoken about these paths in "Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah," where there is the explanation of the strength of this hadith.
After that, the author cites two hadiths; one is weak, and the other is fabricated; and therefore we also avoid them.
And with this hadith narrated by Ibn 'Umar, the chapter on encouraging cupping ends, and I repeat this hadith to you so that at least its meaning settles in your minds:
Cupping on an empty stomach is best, and in it is healing and blessing, and it increases in intellect and in memory, and be cupped on the blessing of Allah on Thursday, and avoid cupping on Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday out of caution, and be cupped on Monday and Tuesday; for it is the day on which Allah cured Ayyub and He struck him with affliction on Wednesday; for leprosy and leprosy do not appear except on Wednesday or the night of Wednesday.
.
The lesson after this is on encouraging visiting the sick and emphasizing it.

The questioner : ... .

The Shaykh : What I told you about hadiths in, in.

The questioner : ... .

The Shaykh : Is it after the hadith of Abu Hurayrah?

The questioner : ... .

The Shaykh : After the hadith of Abu Hurayrah, I told you about two hadiths after the hadith of Abu Hurayrah, starting from his statement in the narration mentioned by Razin to the end, both are weak.
