There are young men who return to Allah at the age of twenty-five and at the age of twenty-four,Meaning: who may be in a state of straying during puberty, and may have disobeyed Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, and may have been abandoning the prayer. After this age, he returns to Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, and becomes one of the servants of Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He. Will he be included among the seven whom Allah will shade in His shade on the Day when there is no shade except His shade, namely the young man who grew up in the obedience of Allah?
Age has stages among them: the age of youth, the age of maturity, the age of old age, and the age of extreme old age. So it comes back to this. The one who is twenty-five is still in his youth, but even so, if it is assumed that he did not become upright until after thirty, then Allah the Exalted says in His Book: [Al-Furqan: 68-70] These are the ones who repented after they had grown old and done a righteous deed; Allah will replace their evil deeds with good ones, and He will write for them, if Allah wills, what He writes for others. And if it is decreed that he was not young, then he has missed one of the characteristics by which he deserves to be shaded by Allah, Mighty and Majestic, but let him not miss the other characteristics.
