Exegesis of Verses from Surat al-Naba'
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and I send prayers and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad, the Seal of the Prophets and the Imam of the righteous, and upon his family and his Companions, and those who follow them with excellence until the Day of Judgment.
To proceed: So, on this Thursday, the first of the month of Safar, or the thirtieth of the month of Muharram, we open this session as usual. We begin this session by praising Allah, Lord of the worlds. We praise Him, seek His help, and seek His forgiveness. We seek refuge in Allah from the evil of our own souls and from the evil of our deeds. Whomsoever Allah guides, none can misguide, and whomsoever He leaves to misguide, none can guide. And I bear witness that there is no deity but Allah alone, with no partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and His Messenger. Allah the Exalted sent him with guidance and the religion of truth. He conveyed the message, fulfilled the trust, advised the community, and struggled in the cause of Allah with true struggle. May the prayers and peace of Allah be upon him, upon his family and his Companions, and upon those who follow them with excellence until the Day of Judgment.
I have decided that we should open our sessions with something from the exegesis of the Noble Qur'an, and let it be from Surat al-Naba'; because this surah is often recited in the Maghrib and 'Isha' prayers, so we begin first with Surat al-Naba'.
