The Ruling on Racing for a Prize

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Following the first question regarding racing: If each of the two racers says: "I am putting up one hundred riyals. If you win, you take two hundred along with your own hundred, and if I win, I take the same," then this is either a loss without gain or a gain without loss.Meaning: He will lose one hundred if he is beaten, or he will take one hundred if he wins!
This is forbidden except in three things that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) permitted,Where he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: (There is no racing except in three: an arrow, a horse, or a camel).
These are permissible; and that is because there is benefit in racing on these three, as they are instruments of jihad and they assist in jihad, so racing on them for a prize is permissible due to the benefit that follows from this.
