Abstaining from trimming the nails for one who intends to offer a sacrifice
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Your Eminence! Some people who offer sacrifices believe that when the first of Dhu al-Hijjah enters, their children and sons must not take anything from their nails, and the same applies to women?
This is based on the hadith, in which the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “And one of you intends to offer a sacrifice” and he did not say: “or a sacrifice is offered on his behalf.” Accordingly, if a man offers a sacrifice on his behalf and on behalf of his household, there is no blame on his household if they take from their hair, nails, or skin; because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: “And one of you intends to offer a sacrifice” and because it is not reported that he used to say to his family: “Do not take from your nails, hair, or skin.”
As for one who intends to offer a sacrifice and takes something from his nails, he is disobeying the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), but the sacrifice is valid; because there is no connection between the sacrifice and taking from the hair.
