Rulings for One Who Intends to Sacrifice

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : We conclude this by stating that if a person intends to offer a sacrifice, then once the entry of the month of Dhu al-Hijjah is confirmed, it becomes forbidden for him to take anything from his hair, nails, or skin. He must not take any hair, even that which is recommended to be taken, nor any nails, nor any skin. What is meant by skin? The flesh. However, if a nail breaks, he may cut off the broken part; or if a hair falls into his eye and causes him harm, he may remove it; or if his skin is scraped and causes him harm, he may cut it, because this is to ward off harm. Otherwise, he must not take anything. Is this forbidden for the head of the household—the one in charge—or for everyone? It is forbidden for the head of the household only. As for the other members of the household, there is no harm in their taking from their hair, nails, or skin, because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
any one of you intending to sacrifice the animal وأراد أحدكم أن يضحي
Sahih Muslim 1977c
, and because he used to offer sacrifices on behalf of his family, and it is not reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) told them to avoid doing so. Until when? The scholars said: Until he offers his sacrifice. Once he has offered his sacrifice, it becomes permissible for him to take from his hair, skin, and nails. What if he does not offer his sacrifice until the second day of the festival? Does he wait until he offers it? Yes. Or the third day of the festival, does he wait until he offers it? Yes. Or the fourth day of the festival, does he wait until he offers it? Yes. Yes.

The questioner : May Allah reward the honorable Shaykh with the best reward. Now we will present these questions, even though there are many of them.
