Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Exegesis of His saying, the Exalted: (And no one has a favor with him that can be repaid)

Then he said:
And not [giving] for anyone who has [done him] a favor to be rewardedوَمَا لأَحَدٍ عِنْدَهُ مِنْ نِعْمَةٍ تُجْزَى
[Al-Layl:19] Meaning: He does not give money as a reward for a previous favor from a person; no one has a favor over him that he would repay, but rather he gives seeking the Face of Allah. And for this he said:
But only seeking the countenance of his Lord, Most High.إِلَاّ ابْتِغَاءَ وَجْهِ رَبِّهِ الأَعْلَى
[Al-Layl:20] So he does not spend except seeking the Face of Allah.Meaning: Seeking to reach the abode of the honor of Allah, in which is the seeing of Allah (Mighty and Majestic).
