Advice to Those Who Withhold Zakah

A man ordered his family to pay the zakah on their trade goods, but they did not respond to him. What should he do with them?
If he ordered his family to pay the zakah on their trade goods and they did not pay it, he is like one who enjoined good but the commanded act was not performed. He bears no sin for their transgression in any way;because of His saying, the Exalted: [Al-An'am: 164] ; but he must continue to advise them, perhaps Allah will guide them.
The questioner: Should he pay the zakah on their behalf?The Shaykh: He should not pay the zakah on their behalf, even if he did pay it, it would not benefit them as long as they have not appointed him as their agent, and as long as they persist in refusing to pay the zakah.
