The second question of fatwa number ( 11241 )
Q2: I sent an amount to my maternal uncle in Sudan and did not tell him that it was zakah; because if I had told him it was zakah, he would not have accepted it. I left this matter between me and Allah. Is my zakah valid?
A2: If you gave your zakah to someone you know is eligible for it with the intention of zakah, then it is valid zakah, and we hope that Allah the Exalted will accept it from you. It is not obligatory for you to inform the recipient that it is zakah. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
