The Sunnah is to remain in Mina by day and by night
Some pilgrim groups rent a camp in Mina and an apartment in Mecca. They spend the nights in Mina and return to their apartments in the Noble City of Mecca during the day for comfort. What is the ruling on this practice?
There is no doubt that, from the perspective of the principles of Islamic jurisprudence, their practice is permissible. However, in my view, these people have in fact come for a leisure trip; because they did not follow the Sunnah as it came from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stayed in Mina by day and by night. Hajj is a struggle in the path of Allah, not a leisure trip. I do not know how these people feel they are in worship and turning to Allah, and that they are continuing in Hajj, when they move to their homes for comfort? Perhaps they have entertainment devices with them, and then they return to Mina for part of the time. I do not know how they feel they are in worship? Therefore, Muslims should be alerted to this issue, in which many people have become engrossed. They took the rules of the jurists or what the words of the jurists imply, and they forgot that the matter is an act of worship.
Therefore, a person should do it as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did it. How is it that he says: (Take from me your rituals) Stay in your tent, even if it is hot, even if you sweat, even if you face hardship and discomfort. He is in obedience to Allah, and the matter is only a few days. All of Hajj does not exceed six days. (The eighth, ninth, tenth, eleventh, twelfth, and thirteenth for those who delay) , and you are coming from your country, leaving your family and your wealth, facing the dangers of travel, and you are unable to restrain your soul for six days, or five, or less than that, four days. By Allah, I am very sorry about this and very pained by it. And even if some people issue rulings based on what the words of the jurists imply, Hajj will then turn into a leisure trip. So we ask Allah for guidance for us and for them.
I see that the Hajj of these people is incomplete, without doubt; because they did not follow the Sunnah in remaining in Mina by day and by night.
