Advice for a young man at the beginning of the path of righteousness

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
What is your advice for a young man at the beginning of the path of righteousness?

Our advice to this young man, who is on a sound path, if Allah wills, is: First: that he should constantly ask Allah for steadfastness and correctness.

Second: That he should frequently read the Qur'an with reflection; because this Qur'an has a great effect on the heart if a person reads it with reflection.

Third: That he should strive to stick to acts of obedience and not become bored or lazy, for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) sought refuge with Allah from weakness and laziness.

Fourth: That he should strive to keep the company of the good and avoid the company of the evil.

Fifth: That he should advise himself when this self affects him and says to him: "The distance is far and the road is long." So let him advise himself and be steadfast; because Paradise is surrounded by disliked things, and the Fire is surrounded by desires.

Sixth: That he should avoid the company of the bad, even if they were his friends before; because the company of the bad affects him,Therefore, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: (The example of the bad companion is like the bellows of the blacksmith; either it burns your clothes, or you find a foul smell from it).
And with this, the time has ended; So we say: Praise be to Allah for the success, and we ask Allah the Exalted to grant us and you success in beneficial knowledge and righteous deeds.
And until the next meeting, if Allah wills, in the coming week.
And we inform you of good and reward, for whoever walks a path seeking knowledge therein, Allah will make for him a path to Paradise easy.
