Exegesis of the saying of Allah the Exalted: (But as for the orphan, do not oppress him)]

Allah (Mighty and Majestic) said:
So as for the orphan, do not oppress [him].فَأَمَّا الْيَتِيمَ فَلا تَقْهَرْ
[Surat al-Duha: 9] This is in contrast to
Did He not find you an orphan and give [you] refuge?أَلَمْ يَجِدْكَ يَتِيماً فَآوَى
[Surat al-Duha: 6]. So if Allah has taken you in during your orphanhood, do not oppress the orphan, but rather honor him. Being kind to orphans and honoring them is among the commands of the Shari'ah and among its good deeds. This is because the orphan—meaning the one whose father died before he reached maturity—is broken in spirit. Indeed, he needs to be comforted, and he needs someone to console him and bring him joy, especially if he has reached an age where he understands matters, such as seven or ten years old or similar.
