The Best Method for Confronting the Dangers of Corruption

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
His Eminence the Shaykh: You know that the youth in this era face dangers and trials that are not hidden from you. In response to this, various means of upbringing and reform have multiplied, as have the methodologies. So what do you see, O Shaykh, in your view, as the best method for confronting such dangers and also for reforming the youth?
As for the dangers facing the youth today, from the many trials found in magazines and newspapers, heard from some radio stations, and seen on television stations, there is no doubt that they are a great trial requiring strong faith in Allah (Mighty and Majestic) and strong determination. As for the need for faith in Allah, it is because when a person believes in Allah (Mighty and Majestic), everything becomes easy for him; for he hopes for the reward of Allah and fears His punishment. As for determination, it is because if a person does not have determination, he will end up in failure in all his circumstances. The poet says:
If you are a man of opinion, be a man of determination, for the corruption of opinion is to hesitate.
So my advice is that they should stay away from places of trial, and turn to Allah (Mighty and Majestic), and that their concern not be gossip, what so-and-so said, what so-and-so said, what the government said, what the ministry said, and the like. Except if the person who says such things says it to someone who is able to change it and forbid it, then there is no harm in that.
