Calling to Allah through rational and transmitted evidence

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Your Eminence! Some people say regarding the matter of da'wah that when they come to call the people of the Book, they say: We are unable to call these people to the Qur'an because they do not believe in the Qur'an in the first place, even though the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), when he sent Mu'adh to the people of Yemen, sent him to a people of the Book,And in the narration of al-Bukhari: (that they should worship Allah alone) and the statement of the Shaykh al-Islam: The entire Qur'an is tawhid (the oneness of Allah). So what is your advice, Your Eminence, regarding this claim, which I fear may lead to the denial of the divine attributes of the Book of Allah? May Allah reward you with good?

We say: Calling to the religion of Allah the Exalted and to the Shari'ah of Allah is only through the means that Allah Mighty and Majestic has prescribed. There is no doubt that calling by the Qur'an and the Sunnah is the closest means to acceptance. However, there is no harm in a person having rational evidence to support the Book and the Sunnah, because some people do not believe in the transmitted evidence, namely: the Qur'an and the Sunnah, but when rational evidence comes to them, they are convinced. This is found in the Qur'an, for Allah the Exalted argues with some of the polytheists using rational evidence, and this is what Ibrahim said to his father:
O my father, why do you worship that which does not hear and does not see and will not benefit you at all?يَا أَبَتِ لِمَ تَعْبُدُ مَا لا يَسْمَعُ وَلا يُبْصِرُ وَلا يُغْنِي عَنْكَ شَيْئاً
[Maryam: 42] So he argued with him using rational evidence, and likewise he argued with his people using rational evidence when he saw a star and said: This is my Lord,And he saw the moon and said: This is my Lord,And he saw the sun and said: This is my Lord, and when all of them set, he realized that they were not gods. As for the fact that the Christians and Jews do not believe in the Qur'an, it is not that they do not believe in it, but they do not believe in the universality of the message. Therefore, you find them seeing the argumentation by the Qur'an, and I heard a great echo of the verse recited by the Prime Minister of Pakistan at the false conference currently being held in Cairo, the Population and Environment Conference. I heard a great echo of the verse she recited, which is the saying of Allah the Exalted:
and do not kill your children out of poverty; We will provide for you and themوَلا تَقْتُلُوا أَوْلادَكُمْ مِنْ إِمْلاقٍ نَحْنُ نَرْزُقُكُمْ وَإِيَّاهُمْ
[Al-An'am: 151] and the other verse:
And do not kill your children for fear of poverty. We provide for them and for youوَلا تَقْتُلُوا أَوْلادَكُمْ خَشْيَةَ إِمْلاقٍ نَحْنُ نَرْزُقُهُمْ وَإِيَّاكُمْ
[Al-Isra: 31] where they reported from what she spoke that she used this verse as evidence. This indicates that the Qur'an has a status even among non-Muslims.

The questioner: Our Shaykh! The rational evidence you mentioned from the Qur'an is a witness to lordship, so it is from the Qur'an, is it not?The Shaykh: Yes, but they are rational evidence.
