Explanation of the author's statement: "And they claim that they have succeeded in reconciling the rational and transmitted evidence through this method

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh :"They claim that they have succeeded in reconciling the rational and transmitted evidence through this method, but they have lied in that, because the rational and transmitted evidence agree on affirming the attributes of perfection for Allah the Exalted, and whatever comes " This is the importance of the last rule, "and whatever comes in the Book and the Sunnah regarding the attributes of Allah does not contradict reason, even if reason is unable to grasp the details thereof ".
Whatever comes in the Book and the Sunnah regarding the attributes of Allah does not contradict reason, but does reason affirm that? It may be unable to grasp it, for grasping the details of the attributes of Allah is beyond the capacity of minds.
Therefore, if someone asks you: Does reason grasp or affirm that Allah rises above the Throne?
The answer is: No, were it not for the hearing [of the texts], we would not have known that. But reason grasps that Allah the Exalted is above His creation, because being above is among the attributes of perfection, and reason grasps that Allah the Exalted possesses the attributes of perfection.
If someone says to you: Does reason affirm that Allah has power? You say: Yes, because this is among the attributes of perfection, so it grasps that Allah the Exalted has a power that no other power resembles.
Does it grasp that Allah has a face? Hmm? No, were it not for the Shari'ah, we would not have known that. For this reason, we do not affirm that Allah has an ear, because the Shari'ah has not come with that, and reason cannot affirm for Allah the Mighty and Majestic any attribute that Allah has not affirmed for Himself.
So the conclusion is: Reason does not contradict what the Shari'ah has brought regarding the attributes of Allah, even if it does not grasp some of the details. But when the Shari'ah brings it, does reason accept it or not? It accepts it.
