[The Meaning of the Hadith: (And whoever intends an evil deed and does not do it, one good deed is recorded for him)

A person told me: There is a hadith in Makkah: (And whoever intends an evil deed and does not do it, one good deed is recorded for him) What is the authenticity of this hadith?
If he intends it and does not do it, then if he leaves it for the sake of Allah, he is rewarded for that. But if he leaves it because his soul is pleased with it, he is not rewarded for leaving it; it is recorded against him in Makkah.Allah the Exalted said:
and [also] whoever intends [a deed] therein of deviation [in religion] or wrongdoing - We will make him taste of a painful punishment.وَمَنْ يُرِدْ فِيهِ بِإِلْحَادٍ بِظُلْمٍ نُذِقْهُ مِنْ عَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ
[Al-Hajj: 25]
