The Ruling on Supplicating for What We Know Allah Will Do
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Regarding supplication for what is known that Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, will do: such as supplicating for the victory of Islam, and it is established in some hadiths that the future belongs to Islam, is it permissible to supplicate in such matters?
Supplicating for what we know that Allah will do is permissible,For this reason, we say: "O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad," so we supplicate for him to be blessed, even though Allah has informed us that He blesses him, so it is a known matter; because Allah and His angels send blessings upon the Prophet.
And we also say: "O Allah, Lord of this perfect call and the established prayer, grant Muhammad the intercession and the excellence, and raise him to the praiseworthy station."
And the intercession, as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: (It is a rank in Paradise that is not fitting for any servant of Allah except one, and I hope that I will be he) and this hope of his, if Allah wills, will be realized, and likewise, supplicating for the victory of Islam and the Muslims does not mean: that the person does not believe that Allah will give victory to Islam.
But this supplication includes that the Muslims should possess the Islam that deserves victory, by holding fast to it; because the Muslims today, with great regret, are not on the path they should be on, nor are they on the Sunnah they must be upon, and many Muslims today have turned away from the path of Allah,Meaning: they are turning away with themselves, and turning away for others.
How many are those who are stingy with zakah, how many are those who doubt the matter of faith in Allah, how many are those who backbite the servants of Allah, and how many are those who eat the flesh of those who enjoin justice among the people, so the important thing is that the Muslims today, with great regret, are in a pitiable state, and if they had supported Allah by supporting His religion, He would have supported them as He supported their righteous predecessors.
We all know that the Arabs were a weak, humiliated, submissive, and poor nation before the Message, but after the Message and when they held fast to Islam, they became a noble, dominant nation, to the extent that the crown of Kisra—the king of the greatest state at that time—was brought from Madain to Madinah and placed before the hands of the Rightly Guided Caliph 'Umar ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him), and is there any nobility greater than this nobility? But with regret, as you see today, the Muslims are negligent, they do not have the strength and determination to defend themselves.
And nothing is clearer than what we are in today, for in the lands of Islam today, there are those whose honor is violated, whose mosques are demolished, whose wealth is plundered, and whose offspring are taken captive by the Christians, and we are a nation that does not speak what we should speak, and what is done to the Muslims today in Bosnia is a matter that breaks hearts in reality, so if one of us imagined—may Allah not make it happen, except good—that his enemy is on the verge of Madinah and enters Madinah,And that their children and young boys are calling out: the Serbs came, the Serbs came.
and they weep from the horror of that scene, and his liver is cut with blood, but he cannot do anything, so do we feel this feeling now? Never, each one of us is on his bed with his family, and it is as if nothing is happening to his brothers, so the Christians are not enemies of Bosnia only, and the Christians of Bosnia are not the only enemies, the Christians are enemies of every Muslim in every land of Allah, whether they are from the Serbs of Bosnia or from others, but with regret, many Muslims are ignorant of that.
By Allah, a person sometimes does not sleep quickly as he usually sleeps when he remembers these brothers who are besieged by the hands of these aggressive, unjust Serbs.
Then let us look at the position of the United Nations, what did it do? It became the most humiliated thing in this war, so the Serbs enter the tanks and weapons in the possession of the United Nations, they enter while the guards are in them, then they take them and fight the Muslims with them, and we did not hear anyone raise his voice loudly from the leaders of the Muslims to denounce this action, so where is the mutual support among the Muslims? Where is the one body that if one part of it suffers, the rest of the body responds to it with fever and sleeplessness? And how can we give victory while we are this negligent? So if you supplicate to Allah for the victory of the Muslims and your supplication for the victory of Islam, you are supplicating to Allah, the Exalted, to prepare the Muslims to a state in which they are worthy of victory, so we ask Allah, the Exalted, to restore our nobility and glory, and to reform the rulers of the Muslims so that they are as Allah has obligated them to be, so the Muslims today are a billion or more, and yet—as you see—it is a weak, humiliated nation that does not possess anything of its own affairs, and there is no power and no strength except with Allah, the Most High, the Great.
