Currently, lying is permissible in three cases; is swearing an oath with this lie also permissible?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Currently, lying is permissible in three cases; is swearing an oath with this lie also permissible?

The Shaykh: No.

The questioner : Since the original matter is lawful, O Shaykh, why is swearing an oath with it forbidden?

The Shaykh : Out of reverence for Allah.

The questioner : Out of reverence for Allah, even if a man swears me to an oath regarding a settlement between two men.

The Shaykh : Stay in your place, go around, and make a circuit.

The questioner : Euphemism, indirect speech.

The Shaykh : No, you are now going around and turning away. If you know that it is not permissible, then by Allah, you are lying, even in the case where lying is permissible. So your saying, "he swore me to an oath," is like if he had not sworn you to an oath; rather, if he did swear you to an oath, your sin is greater.

The questioner : He swore me to an oath on the basis that I am truthful in what I say.

The Shaykh : Our answer is no.

The questioner : I understood.

The Shaykh : The answer is absolutely: it is not permissible.

The questioner : Swearing an oath is not permissible.

The Shaykh: Absolutely.
