Types of the Modes of Hajj

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and I send prayers and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad, the Seal of the Prophets, and upon his family and his Companions, and upon those who follow them with excellence until the Day of Judgment.

To proceed: This is the final session in the month of Dhul-Qa'dah of the year (1413 AH), which takes place on a Thursday. I ask Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) to make it, along with the previous sessions, a meeting of good and blessing.
Last week, we spoke about the conditions for the obligation of Hajj and 'Umrah.
Today, we will speak about the manner of performing 'Umrah and Hajj.

So the lawful modes are three categories:- Hajj Ifrad.
- Hajj Qiran.
- Hajj Tamattu'.

As for Hajj Ifrad: That a person enters the state of ihram for Hajj alone,So he says: saying, "Labbaik Hajjan."

As for Qiran: That a person enters the state of ihram for both 'Umrah and Hajj together,So he says: saying, "Labbaik 'Umran wa Hajjan," or he enters the state of ihram for 'Umrah first, then incorporates Hajj into it before beginning its tawaf, as happened to the Mother of the Believers, A'ishah (may Allah be pleased with her), when she entered the state of ihram for 'Umrah and was afflicted with menstruation. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered her to incorporate Hajj into her 'Umrah, and this was before she performed the tawaf for 'Umrah.

As for Tamattu', it is: That he enters the state of ihram for 'Umrah in the months of Hajj -Meaning: after the entry of Shawwal - with the intention to perform Hajj that year, then he exits the state of ihram, and enters the state of ihram for Hajj at its proper time.
And this last point—I mean: Tamattu' is the best; because it is what the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded, and because it involves more work. The one who performs Tamattu' comes with a complete 'Umrah and exits the state of ihram from it, then comes with Hajj. However, if he brings sacrificial animals with him by accompanying them to Makkah, he has no option but Qiran only, or Ifrad; because the one who brings sacrificial animals cannot exit the state of ihram except on the Day of Sacrifice. And the evidence for that is: When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) performed Hajj, he ordered his companions to make their ihram for 'Umrah, except for those who brought sacrificial animals. And he (peace and blessings be upon him) remained in his state of ihram; because he had brought sacrificial animals.
