Ruling on leaving the mosque during the adhan
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
I see some of the brothers sitting in the mosque for a lesson, and when the adhan begins, they leave, because I have read that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade leaving when the adhan is called. What is the ruling on that?
In the Sahih, from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him): [He saw a man leave after the adhan and said: "As for this man, he has disobeyed Abu al-Qasim (peace and blessings be upon him)"] The scholars said: It is forbidden to leave the mosque after the adhan except for a valid excuse. However, this hadith does not explicitly state that the man left to pray in another mosque; he may have left so that he would not pray. We see that if he leaves to pray in another mosque and knows that he will catch the prayer, there is no blame on him. But he should not do so, lest those who leave and do not pray follow his example.
