The Adhan for Prayer in the Mosque and Outside of It
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa No. ( 3373 )
Q2: The mosque of the village where they live is far from the village. Is it permissible for them to call the adhan in the middle of the village, or should the adhan be at the mosque?
A2: It is prescribed that the adhan be performed from the mosque or near it, as is established from the practice of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and his successors (may Allah be pleased with them) and the Muslims after them followed this. This is because it is an announcement of the entry of the time for prayer and a call to perform it in the mosque, so it should not be performed far from it. However, if the adhan from the mosque or near it is not heard by most of the residents, there is no harm in performing it in a place where the majority of them can hear it, taking into account the public benefit. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his companions.
