Exegesis of the saying of Allah the Exalted: (And when the sky is peeled off)]

Allah the Exalted said:

And when the sky is stripped away

وَإِذَا السَّمَاءُ كُشِطَتْ

[Surat al-Takwir: 11], the sky above us now is a preserved ceiling, strong and firm,Allah the Exalted said:

And the heaven We constructed with strength

وَالسَّمَاءَ بَنَيْنَاهَا بِأَيْدٍ

[Surat al-Dhariyat: 47],Meaning: with strength,And Allah the Exalted said:

And constructed above you seven strong [heavens]

وَبَنَيْنَا فَوْقَكُمْ سَبْعاً شِدَاداً

[Surat al-Naba: 12] meaning: strong.
So on the Day of Resurrection it will be peeled off,Meaning: removed from its place as the skin is peeled off the camel when it is flayed from the flesh, so Allah (Mighty and Majestic) will peel it off, then He (Exalted and Majestic is He) will fold it with His right hand,As Allah the Exalted said:

And the heavens will be folded up by His right hand

وَالسَّموَاتُ مَطْوِيَّاتٌ بِيَمِينِهِ

[Surat al-Zumar: 67].

And Allah the Exalted said:

The Day when We will fold the heaven like the folding of a [written] sheet for the records

يَوْمَ نَطْوِي السَّمَاءَ كَطَيِّ السِّجِلِّ لِلْكُتُبِ

[Surat al-Anbiya: 104] meaning: as the scribe folds the books,Meaning: when the writer finishes writing, he folds the paper to preserve it from tearing and from being erased.
So the heavens will be peeled off on the Day of Resurrection, and the matter will remain as open space,Except that Allah the Exalted says:

And there will bear the Throne of your Lord above them, that Day, eight [of them].

وَيَحْمِلُ عَرْشَ رَبِّكَ فَوْقَهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ ثَمَانِيَةٌ

[Surat al-Haqqah: 17], so the sky above us will be replaced by the Throne; because the sky is folded by the right hand of Allah (Mighty and Majestic), He folds it with His right hand and shakes it, and likewise the earth with the other hand,And he says: I am the King, where are the kings of the world?!
