Making use of the vacation opportunity to call people to Allah
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Your Eminence! As you know, the spring vacation will begin at the end of next month. It would be wonderful if university students and teachers were encouraged to call people to Allah and converse with people in the north and the south. In fact, I recall that a few days ago I gave a ride to a man from one of the villages. I wanted to read some of the short surahs with him, but when he recited al-Fatihah, he did not recite it correctly. So I was amazed by him! And I said to him: My brother! If you return to the village, may Allah reward you with good. Try to recite for the imam of the village. So he said: I am the imam of the village, and he does not recite al-Fatihah correctly. It would be good to point out the virtue of calling people to Allah, because some people go out to the desert, which is permissible. But which is better: Going out to these deserts, or calling people to Allah? May Allah reward you with good?
There is no doubt that this is an important direction from the brother. The people, on the days of the spring vacation, many of them go out to the desert for recreation and to enjoy the company of their friends and brothers. This is one of the permissible matters, but people are divided into three categories regarding this going out: The first category: they earn sin through it. You find with them instruments of amusement and music, songs, and forbidden games in which evil occurs, and that becomes a calamity for them.
The second category: They spend their time in idle talk and amusement, even if it does not reach the level of prohibition.
The third category: [The third category is] whoever utilizes it for calling people to Allah. He remains in his camp reciting the Book of Allah, reading in books of tafsir and books of hadith, and moving between the camps to call people to Allah the Exalted and to encourage and warn. And Allah guides many people through him. The resolute and intelligent one is, as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: (The wise one is he who disciplines himself and works for what is after death, and the weak one is he who follows his own desires and hopes for the impossible from Allah).
