The Ruling on Performing Hajj with Forbidden Wealth

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner: It is well known that Allah does not accept anything but what is pure. Some people perform Hajj with forbidden wealth. Is their Hajj accepted? The Shaykh: How is that? The questioner himself: You mean: he consumes riba (usury or interest), steals, and performs Hajj with forbidden wealth? The Shaykh: The stronger position is that his Hajj is valid; because wealth is not a condition for Hajj, so a person can perform Hajj with his body. This is unlike charity, where if one gives charity with forbidden wealth, it is not accepted from him; because the forbidden element is in the very substance of the act of worship. As for this, the person's actions, his movements, his tawaf (circumambulation of the Ka'bah), his sa'y (walking between al-Safa and al-Marwah), his standing, and his stoning are actions that are not coins or expenses. So the correct opinion is: His Hajj is valid, but it is not permissible for him to consume the forbidden wealth, neither in worship nor otherwise, and it is obligatory for him to dispose of it.
