[Ruling on omitting the word (Ibn) from names and saying: al-'Abd Allah]

Some scholars mentioned: Describing the son's name directly with the father's name, meaning: without mentioning (Ibn), constitutes imitating the practice of the Christians in naming their children, where they connect the son's name directly to the father's name without mentioning (Ibn). It has been observed that names containing the Divine Name, such as 'Abd al-Rahman and 'Abd Allah, contain errors, such as saying: So-and-so al-'Abd Allah, or So-and-so al-'Abd al-Rahman, or containing a type of self-praise, such as saying: So-and-so al-'Abd al-Jabbar, or So-and-so al-'Abd al-Latif. What is your opinion?

As for the first: It is that a person omits (Ibn) when making a reference,For example, he says: Muhammad 'Abd Allah, Muhammad Salih, Muhammad Sulayman. There is no doubt that this is contrary to the method of the Salaf, and what we knew before, but it entered us from the nations that the disbelievers colonized, and it spread among the people, unfortunately,And the correct thing is to say: Ibn, as Allah the Exalted said:
And [the example of] Mary, the daughter of 'Imran, who guarded her chastityوَمَرْيَمَ ابْنَتَ عِمْرَانَ الَّتِي أَحْصَنَتْ فَرْجَهَا
[Al-Tahrim: 12] .

As for Muhammad al-'Abd Allah, they do not mean by their saying: Al-'Abd Allah means: that Allah is a servant, or al-'Abd al-Jabbar that the Mighty One is a servant. Never would this occur to anyone's mind, but the (al) here means (Aal) , and it was transformed into "al" for the sake of ease, as it is always on people's tongues,So saying: Al-'Abd Allah means: Aal 'Abd Allah. This expression has been on the tongues of scholars in this land for a long time, and they did not reject it, nor did they investigate it, but people, with the expansion of the adhan now, have started to say: How can this be?So we say the saying of the one who says: Al-'Abd Allah al-Sulayman means Aal So-and-so.
