Exegesis of the saying of Allah the Exalted: (So woe to those who pray, who are heedless of their prayer)]
Then Allah the Mighty and Majestic said: [Al-Ma'un: 4] and (Woe) is a word of warning, and it is repeated frequently in the Qur'an,And the meaning is: the severe warning for these people, (to those who pray) [Al-Ma'un: 5] these are people who pray with the congregation or individually, but they are (heedless of their prayer) meaning: they are negligent of it, not establishing it as it should be, delaying it from its best time, not establishing its bowing, prostration, standing, or sitting, not reciting what is obligatory in it, whether that be Qur'an or dhikr, when they enter their prayer they find themselves distracted, their hearts wandering to the right and left, so they are heedless of their prayer.
And this is blameworthy; the one who is heedless of prayer, negligent of it, and careless with it, is undoubtedly blameworthy, whereas the one who is forgetful in his prayer is not to be blamed,And the difference between them is: for being forgetful in prayer means: that he forgot something, he forgot the number of rak'ahs, he forgot something of the obligations, or the like of that, and for this reason forgetfulness occurred from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), who was the most attentive of people to his prayer,Rather, he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: (I have made the delight of my eyes in prayer) and yet he was forgetful in his prayer;Because forgetfulness means: that he forgets something in a way for which he is not blamed, whereas the one who is heedless of his prayer is intentionally careless with his prayer, and among those who are heedless of prayer are those people who call for prayer with the congregation, for they are undoubtedly heedless of their prayer, and they fall under this warning.
Then Allah the Mighty and Majestic said:
Woe to the praying.
فَوَيْلٌ لِلْمُصَلِّينَ[But] who are heedless of their prayer -
الَّذِينَ هُمْ عَنْ صَلاتِهِمْ سَاهُونَAnd this is blameworthy; the one who is heedless of prayer, negligent of it, and careless with it, is undoubtedly blameworthy, whereas the one who is forgetful in his prayer is not to be blamed,And the difference between them is: for being forgetful in prayer means: that he forgot something, he forgot the number of rak'ahs, he forgot something of the obligations, or the like of that, and for this reason forgetfulness occurred from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), who was the most attentive of people to his prayer,Rather, he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: (I have made the delight of my eyes in prayer) and yet he was forgetful in his prayer;Because forgetfulness means: that he forgets something in a way for which he is not blamed, whereas the one who is heedless of his prayer is intentionally careless with his prayer, and among those who are heedless of prayer are those people who call for prayer with the congregation, for they are undoubtedly heedless of their prayer, and they fall under this warning.
