The Ruling on Rhyming in Supplication

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Your Eminence! What is the meaning of his saying (peace and blessings be upon him): (Beware of rhyming in supplication) ?
I do not know this hadith in this wording, but a person should supplicate to Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) with a beneficial and comprehensive supplication. The best with which a servant supplicates is what came in the Sunnah, or rather, what came in the Qur'an and what came in the Sunnah. In the Qur'an there are many supplications:
Our Lord, forgive us our sins and the excess [committed] in our affairs and plant firmly our feet and give us victory over the disbelieving people."رَبَّنَا اغْفِرْ لَنَا ذُنُوبَنَا وَإِسْرَافَنَا فِي أَمْرِنَا وَثَبِّتْ أَقْدَامَنَا وَانْصُرْنَا عَلَى الْقَوْمِ الْكَافِرِينَ
[Al Imran: 147] ,
They said, "Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves, and if You do not forgive us and have mercy upon us, we will surely be among the losers."
[Al A'raf: 23] and there are many verses regarding this,And likewise the Sunnah came with that, meaning: with many supplications. So adhering to the supplications that came in the Book and the Sunnah is the best. However, a person may have a need that is not mentioned in the Book and the Sunnah, in which case he supplicates to Allah the Exalted and seeks nearness to Him through His names and attributes, as He the Exalted said:
And to Allah belong the best names, so invoke Him by themوَلِلَّهِ الْأَسْمَاءُ الْحُسْنَى فَادْعُوهُ بِهَا
[Al A'raf: 180] If rhyming comes naturally and by instinct without effort, it is among the things that beautify and refine the wording. For this reason, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) sometimes used rhyming, such as his saying (peace and blessings be upon him and his family): (The decree of Allah is more just, and the condition of Allah is more binding, and kinship is only for the one who grants freedom) If rhyming comes without effort, it is among the beautifiers of wording. But with effort, as found in some of what some people supplicate with in the closing supplication of the Qur'an, with long and broad rhymes, and perhaps there is transgression in the supplication such that they seek nearness to Allah the Exalted by means that were not means, or they supplicate to Allah the Exalted for things that cannot be for them, then this is an error.
