The Wrong Concept of Competition

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Your Eminence! If the prayer is established and the worshippers begin to straighten their rows, for example, those in the first row to the imam's right move to the left to fill in some of the gaps, and those who were standing to the imam's left move to their right, allowing some of those in the second row to enter and close the gaps that the people in the first row themselves were trying to close. Perhaps this person entering the front row holds back the people in the front row with his hand to enter between them. Should the person being held back let him take the better spot and remain in the worse one, while Allah says:
And in that let the competitors compete.وَفِي ذَلِكَ فَلْيَتَنَافَسْ الْمُتَنَافِسُونَ
[Al-Mutaffifin: 26]?
This is not permissible, and it is an encroachment on the rights of others. Yes, if we assume that he stood still and did not move closer, or looked at you wanting you to close the gap, then there is no harm; he has waived his right. But if he is ready to move closer and you come and prevent him and enter that spot, then this is not permissible, for it is an encroachment on your brother's right, and because it breeds enmity and hatred.
As for the noble verse
And in that let the competitors compete.وَفِي ذَلِكَ فَلْيَتَنَافَسْ الْمُتَنَافِسُونَ
[Al-Mutaffifin: 26], competition is not encroaching on others; rather, competition is competing with another in a right that does not harm him.
