Exegesis of the saying of Allah the Exalted: (a lying, erring forelock)]
Allah the Exalted said: [Al-Alaq:16] (forelock) is a substitute for the first forelock, and it is an indefinite substitute for a definite one, which is permissible in the Arabic language,And he said: (forelock) in order for that to be a preparation for the description that follows it,And it is his saying: [Al-Alaq:16] (lying) meaning: that it is described as lying, and there is no doubt that one of the greatest things that is lying is what comes from the disbelievers who claim that there are other gods besides Allah,For this is the most lying of speech and the ugliest of action: (erring) meaning: one who commits error intentionally, and let it be known that there is a difference between one who errs and one who makes a mistake (the one who errs) is one who committed the error intentionally, and (the one who makes a mistake) is one who committed it out of ignorance, and the second is excused and the first is not excused,Allah, Blessed and Exalted, said: [Al-Haqqah:37] meaning: those who commit a sin intentionally,And Allah the Exalted said: [Al-Baqarah:286] so Allah said: I have done so.
And like that: the unjust and the just,The unjust: is the one who is oppressive,And the just: is the one who is just.
Allah the Exalted said: [Al-Hujurat:9] And He the Exalted said: [Al-Jinn:15] .
So (erring) means: one who commits a sin intentionally.
Allah the Exalted said:
A lying, sinning forelock.
نَاصِيَةٍ كَاذِبَةٍ خَاطِئَةٍa lying, erring forelock
كَاذِبَةٍ خَاطِئَةٍonly the erring ones eat it
لا يَأْكُلُهُ إِلَّا الْخَاطِئُونَOur Lord, do not impose blame upon us if we have forgotten or erred.
رَبَّنَا لا تُؤَاخِذْنَا إِنْ نَسِينَا أَوْ أَخْطَأْنَاAnd like that: the unjust and the just,The unjust: is the one who is oppressive,And the just: is the one who is just.
Allah the Exalted said:
and act justly. Indeed, Allah loves those who act justly.
وَأَقْسِطُوا إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُحِبُّ الْمُقْسِطِينَBut as for the unjust, they will be, for Hell, firewood.'
وَأَمَّا الْقَاسِطُونَ فَكَانُوا لِجَهَنَّمَ حَطَباًSo (erring) means: one who commits a sin intentionally.
