Exegesis of His saying, the Exalted: (And you consume the inheritance in a most excessive manner, and you love wealth with extreme love)

Allah the Exalted said:
(19) And you consume inheritance, devouring [it] altogether, (20) And you love wealth with immense love.وَتَأْكُلُونَ التُّرَاثَ أَكْلاً لَمّاً * وَتُحِبُّونَ الْمَالَ حُبّاً جَمّاً
[Al-Fajr: 19-20] (The inheritance) is what Allah bequeaths to the servant in the form of wealth, whether he inherited it from a deceased person, or bought and sold and earned it, or went out to the countryside and brought back what he brings from grass, firewood, and the like. The point is that the inheritance is what Allah bequeaths to a person in the form of wealth, and the children of Adam consume it in a most excessive manner.

And as for wealth, he said:
And you love wealth with immense love.وَتُحِبُّونَ الْمَالَ حُبّاً جَمّاً
[Al-Fajr: 20] Meaning: greatly. This is the nature of man, but faith has its effects. A person, by virtue of his faith, may not be concerned with wealth; if it comes to him, he thanks Allah for it and discharges what is obligatory regarding it, and if it departs, he does not care about it. But the nature of man, in his essence, is as Allah the Mighty and Majestic described it in these two verses.
We ask Allah the Exalted to guide us and you to what is good and righteous, and to protect us from the evil of our own selves, for He is capable of all things.
