The Sunnah in Lightening the Sunnah of Fajr

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Your Eminence! There are proofs regarding the virtue of lightening the two rak'ahs of the Sunnah of Fajr. Does lightening mean speed in them and performing the minimum of perfection in terms of the tasbih? And if the adhan is called for the Fajr prayer while I am in the qunut of the witr, am I considered to have caught the witr?
The Sunnah of Fajr involves lightening it.One reads for the person in the first rak'ah:
Say, O you disbelieversقُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ
[Al-Kafirun:1] and in the second:
Say, "He is Allah, [who is] One,قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ
[Al-Ikhlas:1] or one may recite in the first:
Say, [O believers], "We have believed in Allah and what has been revealed to usقُولُوا آمَنَّا بِاللَّهِ وَمَا أُنْزِلَ إِلَيْنَا
[Al-Baqarah:136] the verse in Surat al-Baqarah,And in the second:
Say, "O People of the Scripture, come to a word that is equitable between us and youقُلْ يَا أَهْلَ الْكِتَابِ تَعَالَوْا إِلَى كَلِمَةٍ سَوَاءٍ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَكُمْ
[Al-Imran:64] .
In the ruku', one also lightens it, limiting oneself to the minimum of perfection,Three times: Subhan Rabbi al-Azim.
And in the sujud as well.
And in the tashahhud as well, one does not prolong it.
This is the Sunnah of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him).

And for this reason we say: If a person leaves his house for the mosque and did not pray the rawatib at home, then the best thing when he reaches the mosque is to pray the Sunnah of Fajr with lightening, and it suffices for the greeting of the mosque. This is better than praying the greeting of the mosque first and then the Sunnah second; because the lightening of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) in what is established as recommended in this time indicates that it is not befitting to add to this time beyond the amount recommended. And here, if he prays the Sunnah of Fajr upon entering the mosque, it suffices for the greeting of the mosque. So the best is to limit himself to the two rak'ahs with the intention of the rawatib, and it suffices for him for the greeting of the mosque.
This is regarding the first question.

As for the second question: If the adhan is called and you are in the witr, complete the witr, and you will be considered to have caught it.

First: Due to the saying of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him): (Whoever catches one rak'ah of the prayer has caught the prayer) .

And secondly: That most mu'adhdhins in Fajr call the adhan before the time; because it is established with us through calculation—and it is printed by some of the brothers who have expertise in astronomy—that the existing calendar has an advance of five minutes over the time. And the meaning of this is that a person is free until after (5) minutes according to the existing calendar. This is in Fajr only, as for the rest of the times, they have not shown us a difference. However, some of the brothers exaggerate in the matter of Fajr,So he says: That Fajr does not end except after the existing time by a third of an hour or a quarter of an hour; but this contains some exaggeration; but the five minutes, the brothers who have knowledge of astronomy told us that it is verified in the advance. Therefore, it is befitting for you, if the mu'adhdhin calls and you are in the house, not to rush in the two rak'ahs of Fajr if you know that he calls according to the calendar.

The questioner: The fiqh rule that says: (It suffices for the greeting of the mosque) , what does it mean to suffice for the greeting of the mosque.

The Shaykh: It means: that he is not required to perform it,If it is said: It suffices for the greeting of the mosque, and the meaning of this is that he is not required to perform it; because the intention is to pray two rak'ahs upon entering the mosque, and that has occurred.
