Exegesis of the saying of Allah the Exalted: (The Day when secrets will be exposed)

Allah the Exalted said:
The Day when secrets will be put on trial,يَوْمَ تُبْلَى السَّرَائِرُ
[al-Tariq: 9] : That is, the secrets will be tested, and they are the hearts. Indeed, the reckoning on the Day of Resurrection is based on what is in the hearts, while the reckoning in this world is based on what is in the limbs. For this reason, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) treated the hypocrites as he treated the Muslims;Where permission was sought to kill them, and he would say: (so that people do not say, Muhammad kills his companions) , so he did not kill them even though he knew that so-and-so was a hypocrite, and so-and-so was a hypocrite; but action in this world is based on the outward appearance, and on the Day of Resurrection it is based on the inner reality.
The Day when secrets will be put on trial,يَوْمَ تُبْلَى السَّرَائِرُ
[al-Tariq: 9] : That is, they will be tested,And this is like His saying:
(9) But does he not know that when the contents of the graves are scattered (10) And that within the breasts is obtained,أَفَلا يَعْلَمُ إِذَا بُعْثِرَ مَا فِي الْقُبُورِ * وَحُصِّلَ مَا فِي الصُّدُورِ
[al-'Adiyat: 9-10] .
For this reason, it is obligatory upon us—O my brothers—to take care of the actions of the heart more than we take care of the actions of the limbs. The actions of the limbs are an outward sign; but the action of the heart is what matters most. For this reason, the Prophet (may Allah's prayer and peace be upon him) informed the Companions about the Khawarij,So he says: (One of you will consider his prayer insignificant compared to their prayer, and his fasting insignificant compared to their fasting) That is, they strive in the outward actions; but their hearts are empty—may Allah protect us from that. Islam does not go beyond their throats. They will emerge from Islam as an arrow emerges from its quiver.
So it is upon us—O my brothers—to take care of the hearts, their rectification, their actions, their beliefs, and their orientations,Al-Hasan al-Basri (may Allah have mercy on him) said: And by Allah, Abu Bakr did not surpass them in prayer or fasting, but he surpassed them by what settled in his heart of faith. And when faith settles in the heart, it drives a person to action; but outward action may not drive a person to rectify his heart.
So it is upon us—O my brothers—to take care of our hearts, their rectification, and purifying them from the impurities of shirk (associating partners with Allah), bid'ah (religious innovation), hatred, enmity, and aversion to what Allah revealed to His Messenger, and aversion to the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them), and other things from which the heart must be kept pure.
