Continuation of the meaning of the saying of Allah the Exalted: "The Day when secrets will be exposed."

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Indeed, among the acts of worship, prayer is one that many people do not perform except in the manner of what? Habit. He wakes up, performs ablution, and goes to pray Fajr, but he does not feel that this prayer has entered his heart, nor that he was connected to his Lord in his prayer. Some of the Salaf, specifically Urwah ibn al-Zubayr, was afflicted with leprosy in one of his limbs. Leprosy is a disease that, when it affects a limb, spreads throughout the body, and the afflicted person dies. It was said to him: "You will not be saved from it unless we amputate your leg." On that day, my brother, you are in pain. Where do I say? In the leg of Urwah ibn al-Zubayr. He was afflicted with leprosy in his leg, and the doctors said, "You will not be saved from it unless we amputate the leg."
The student: There was no anesthesia.

The Shaykh : There was no anesthesia at all. So how did we proceed? He said, "Let me pray. Let me pray." When he began the prayer, they amputated his leg. Why? Because when he entered the prayer, his heart connected with whom? With Allah (Mighty and Majestic). And connection with Allah makes one forget everything. Look at the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) when he forbade his companions from continuous fasting, and you know what continuous fasting is.
The student: Continuous fasting means fasting during the day and the night.

The Shaykh : Well done. Continuous fasting is when a person does not break his fast between the two days; he continues. The Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade them from continuous fasting. They said, "You continue fasting." He said:
I am not as you are; I spend the night in the presence of my Lord, who feeds me and gives me drink. لست كهيئتكم إني أبيت عند ربي يطعمني ويسقيني
The scholars said: The meaning of that is that due to his preoccupation with the remembrance of Allah (Mighty and Majestic), he does not care about food and drink. And this is the truth. For this reason, the poet says about his beloved:
"Her stories of your remembrance occupy her *** From drink and distract her from food"
When she stands talking about her lover, she forgets eating and drinking and everything. The one whose heart is preoccupied with Allah (Mighty and Majestic) forgets. But tell me, which state is more complete: that of Urwah ibn al-Zubayr (may Allah be pleased with him), who was so preoccupied that he forgot the amputation of one of his limbs while in prayer, or that of 'Umar ibn al-Khattab, who was preparing the army while he was praying? Which state is more complete? Without doubt, 'Umar ibn al-Khattab. 'Umar ibn al-Khattab was in a more complete state because he combined two acts of worship. And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), without doubt, was the most complete of creation. When he heard the crying of a child, what did he do? He shortened the prayer. He had awareness; he had intellect. But some people cannot bear combining this and that, so they are unable to do so. For this reason, some scholars were asked about a man whose son died, and the people were consoling him, but he was smiling, smiling, pleased with the divine decree and destiny of Allah. But when the son of the Messenger Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), Ibrahim, died, what did he say? He said:
The eyes are shedding tears and the heart is grieved, and we will not say except what pleases our Lord, O Ibrahim ! Indeed we are grieved by your separation. العين تدمع والقلب يحزن ولا نقول إلا ما يرضي الرب وإنا بفراقك يا إبراهيم لمحزونون
Sahih al-Bukhari 1303
This is more complete. More complete than the state of the man who was unable to bear combining patience and acceptance of the divine decree and destiny of Allah, so he was smiling. So the important thing, my brothers, is that we stray from the statement. We ask Allah to make it easy. If
