Permissibility of appointing an agent to distribute zakah

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
I used to distribute the fitrah myself every year, but now I am ill, and I have appointed another person to distribute it. Is this permissible for me, or am I committing a sin?
There is no blame on a person for appointing someone to distribute his fitrah, even without an excuse. Appointing an agent in this matter is permissible, whether for distributing the fitrah, which is zakat al-fitr, or for distributing zakah as well.If a person owes zakah and says: Say to so-and-so, "Take this zakah and distribute it according to your judgment," and there is nothing wrong with that.
Likewise, if you owe an oath expiation, which is feeding ten poor people, and you appoint someone to feed them on your behalf, there is nothing wrong with it, because these are matters in which representation is permissible.Even if you give him the money and say: Say, "Take this money, buy fitrah with it, and distribute it according to your judgment," and there is nothing wrong with that.
