Advice for Those Who Mock the Scholars of Knowledge

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
There are some students who have been afflicted with mocking certain scholars, especially when their opinion differs from that of their Shaykh; sometimes he even curses him. We ask for advice to be given to these people?
First, it is obligatory for the student of knowledge to be the first to obey the command of Allah (Mighty and Majestic) and to avoid His prohibition.Because he is accountable for it from two aspects: The first aspect: that he is like any other person of legal capacity.

The second aspect: That the student of knowledge is a role model; whatever action he performs, people will follow his example and cite it as a proof.
So if the student of knowledge is the one mocking scholars or those below scholars, this is a calamity in reality. It is obligatory for a person, when someone disagrees with him, to seek an excuse for him, then to contact this person who disagrees with him and discuss the matter with him, for perhaps the truth is with him—Meaning: with the one who disagrees with him—and to discuss it with him with good manners, respect, and calmness, until the truth becomes clear.
As for his mocking him because he disagrees with the opinion of his Shaykh, this is also an error. For every person who disagrees with you in your statement, it is obligatory for you to attribute to him the best of intentions, and that this is his independent legal reasoning (ijtihad), and that Allah (Mighty and Majestic) will reward him for his ijtihad. If he erred, he has one reward, and if he was correct, he has two rewards. Then you contact him and discuss it with him without being shy, for perhaps it will become clear that the truth is with you, and you will have a favor over this man. Or perhaps it will become clear that the truth is with him, and he will have a favor over you. As for mockery, it is not at all among the manners of the student of knowledge, nor is it among the manners of a believer with his brother.
