Exegesis of the saying of Allah the Exalted: (The heart did not lie about what it saw)]
Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He, said in Surat al-Najm regarding the story of the Mi'raj: [al-Najm: 11] Know, O Muslim brother, that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had both an Isra and a Mi'raj. Allah mentioned the Isra in Surat al-Isra, and He mentioned the Mi'raj in Surat al-Najm. Both occurred on the same night, approximately three years or a year and a half before the Hijrah—historians differ on this point. Furthermore, the Isra and Mi'raj took place with the body and soul of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), not with his soul alone.
And as for His saying (the Exalted): [al-Isra: 60] The intended meaning here is vision by the eye, not vision in a dream.
Allah the Exalted said in the context of the verses concerning the Mi'raj: [al-Najm: 11] (al-Fu'ad) is the heart,And the meaning is: meaning that what the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw with his eyes, he also saw with his heart, was certain of it, and knew it. This is because the eye may see something that the heart denies, and the heart may perceive something that the eye denies. For example: A person may see a phantom with his eyes and assume it is so-and-so, the son of so-and-so, but the heart rejects this because it knows that so-and-so, the son of so-and-so, was not in that place. Here, the eye saw and the heart denied. Or conversely, a person may imagine something in his heart, but the eye denies it.
As for what the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw on the night of the Mi'raj, he saw it truly with his sight and his insight,And for this he said: [al-Najm: 11] Indeed, the heart was in agreement with the vision of the eye. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was not lying about the great signs he saw on that night; rather, he was truthful. However, you know that the polytheists lied about him,And they said: asking how he could reach al-Masjid al-Aqsa and ascend to the heavens in a single night?!
Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He, said in Surat al-Najm regarding the story of the Mi'raj:
The heart did not lie [about] what it saw.
مَا كَذَبَ الْفُؤَادُ مَا رَأَىAnd as for His saying (the Exalted):
And We did not make the sight which We showed you except as a trial for the people
وَمَا جَعَلْنَا الرُّؤْيا الَّتِي أَرَيْنَاكَ إِلَّا فِتْنَةً لِلنَّاسِAllah the Exalted said in the context of the verses concerning the Mi'raj:
The heart did not lie [about] what it saw.
مَا كَذَبَ الْفُؤَادُ مَا رَأَىAs for what the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw on the night of the Mi'raj, he saw it truly with his sight and his insight,And for this he said:
